This Saturday, April 12, traffic organization will change on one of Lithuania’s main highways – Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda, in the section near the Krunas Bridge reconstruction site.

Until Saturday – Temporary Restrictions for Preparatory Work
Preparatory works are ongoing throughout this week.
As a result, from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, one traffic lane toward Kaunas will be closed.

Since traffic is limited to a single lane, congestion may occur. We urge drivers to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Traffic toward Vilnius remains unchanged until Saturday.

From Saturday – New Traffic Scheme
On Saturday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, changes to the traffic management scheme are planned. During this period, short-term closures of one lane in both directions are possible.

These changes are necessary due to the demolition of one of the existing bridges – the one located closer to the Kaunas Reservoir (Kauno marios). Temporary bridges are helping to avoid greater time and financial losses.

After These Works (Starting Saturday Evening), Traffic Will Flow As Follows:

• Toward Kaunas – two lanes via temporary bridges
• Toward Vilnius – two lanes via the existing bridge

This traffic arrangement will remain in place until spring 2026, when the construction of the second permanent bridge is set to begin.
