Tilsta registers its first marine vessel in the international registry

“Tilsta” registers its first vessel in the International Maritime Ship Registry administered by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The tugboat “Fegda” has become the company’s first vessel capable of operating beyond inland waters, enabling work in the open sea and international ports. The vessel’s location can now be tracked through public ship monitoring systems.

The IMO – a United Nations agency responsible for setting international maritime standards – manages one of the world’s key systems ensuring ship identification, traceability, and operational transparency. By including Fegda in this registry, Tilsta has gained full authorization to carry out projects in international maritime environments, strengthening its position as a reliable contractor in the sector.

Currently, Fegda is used for towing, pushing, and support operations in Klaipėda Port, and, when needed, in other locations as well. Previously, the company relied on external service providers for such operations. The new vessel allows more efficient work organization, faster response, and greater independence.

“This is an important step in our operations as a port infrastructure contractor. The acquisition and international registration of a marine vessel enhance our technical capacity and flexibility – especially where independence and speed are essential,” says Tilsta’s General Director, Eduardas Grinaveckas.
