The Main Road A5 section from 56 km to 72.5 km was reconstructed into a four-lane motorway. This was a key project aimed at improving traffic conditions and increasing road capacity for both domestic and international transportation. The reconstruction included numerous structural upgrades to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow, meeting the highest standards of safety and comfort.

Completed Works:

  1. Increased number of traffic lanes:
The road, which previously had two lanes, was upgraded to a four-lane motorway, significantly enhancing traffic capacity and reducing congestion.
  2. Connector roads:
Connector roads were constructed on both sides of the motorway, enabling safe and convenient access to surrounding areas while minimizing direct traffic on the main carriageway.
  3. Redesign of intersections and access roads:
Existing at-grade intersections and access points were eliminated and replaced with underpasses and grade-separated interchanges, enhancing traffic safety and flow while reducing the risk of accidents.
  4. Rest and parking area:
A modern rest and vehicle parking area was constructed, improving travel comfort and supporting better logistics during long-distance journeys.

Project Benefits:

  1. Improved traffic safety:
New grade-separated interchanges and underpasses drastically reduce the risk of accidents by eliminating hazardous at-grade crossings.
  2. Faster and more convenient travel:
The upgraded road ensures quicker connections, reducing travel time and increasing road throughput.
  3. Economic development:
The improved infrastructure supports trade, tourism, and business growth in the region by encouraging higher transport volumes and offering better conditions for commercial activities.
  4. Improved comfort for residents:
The modernized infrastructure enhances overall comfort and convenience for both local residents and travelers, positively impacting the quality of life in the area.

Long-Term Impact:

  • Enhanced national and international connectivity
  • Reduced traffic congestion and fewer disruptions
  • Stimulated regional economic and social development through improved conditions for job creation, tourism, and business

The reconstruction of Main Road A5 marks a significant step toward building a sustainable and modern transport infrastructure, contributing to greater safety, economic growth, and public well-being.
