Rail Baltica Railway Line – Phase I, Section Žeimiai–Šėta (DPS3)

In the first phase of the Rail Baltica railway line, within the Žeimiai–Šėta section, significant work was carried out to construct a new double-track railway embankment and essential engineering structures. This project forms part of a large-scale railway infrastructure development aimed at connecting Lithuania with Latvia and other Baltic countries, thereby enhancing international connectivity.

Completed Work:

  • Construction of a double-track railway embankment: A new embankment was built to accommodate a double-track railway, ensuring greater capacity and faster transport.
  • Construction of engineering structures: Key engineering structures such as bridges, viaducts, and culverts were constructed to ensure the stability and safety of the railway line.
  • Design and construction works: Both design and construction phases were completed in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety.

Project Significance:

  • Economic impact: The Rail Baltica railway line is a crucial component of the Baltic States’ and European economy, enabling faster and more efficient movement of goods and passengers.
  • Traffic and logistics development: The project will facilitate more convenient and faster travel between the Baltic States and the rest of Europe, boosting trade, tourism, and job creation.
  • Military mobility: The railway line is also important for ensuring military mobility, contributing to the security of the Baltic region.

Long-Term Benefits:
